Obituary for William Henry "Bill" Crone

WILLIAM ( BILL) HENRY CRONE

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of William (Bill) Crone, 57, of Winnipeg, MB. on Wednesday, October 30, 2019.

Bill was born December 27, 1961 in Vancouver, British Columbia and moved with his family to Winnipeg in his teenage years. Once he arrived in Winnipeg, he obtained a part time job at Shoppers Drug Mart, as a merchandiser. From there he proceeded to work his way through the company hierarchy while attending night classes at the Red River Collegiate to obtain his business administration certificate. With his certificate complete, his growth in the company continued, in 1982, he became manager at the age of 21.

He was a manager at Shoppers Drug Mart on Main Street for 18 years and always went out of his way to help those around him. Whether it was his customers looking for a specific item or friends needing a hand, he would always be there for them.

During his time at Shoppers he developed a keen interest for store planning and merchandising. In the year 2000, he took those skills and experience, left Shoppers, and created his own business, MFP. He was very proud of his business because he got to do what he enjoyed most, helping people. Bill was able to help smaller independent pharmacies look at things in a way they may not have before and develop a plan to help their businesses grow.

Along with his work, Bill was also a very charitable and giving man. He would contribute his time to helping the Main Street Project as well as helping at his church for fall suppers and various other church events.

Bill always loved to spend time outdoors whether it was finding little projects to do in his backyard, or just sitting and relaxing while enjoying the weather.

Bill married Jo-Anne on October 26, 1991 and they were married for 28 years. Bill is survived by his wife Jo-Anne, children; Ben (Hannah), Luc, Teena and Eric Evinger (wife, Laurie and son, Zavien), Siblings; Darlene and Glen, his nephews; Gerald, Jason, Jeff and his niece Kimberley, as well as many other family and friends.

Bill was predeceased by his brother Fred, mother Marylyn, and his father Fred.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be held at St. Vital Parish Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy, on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 10:30 a.m.
