Victor was raised in Garson, MB. He was an alter boy with a mischievous side, and a competitive baseball and hockey player in his youth. In 1955 he married Marge and in 1959, they moved into Marge's parents grocery store,
Fredrick's Grocery, in North Kildonan, Winnipeg where they resided and raised their daughters until the store was sold in 1977. During this time, Vic worked at Pat's Cookies, Weston's Bakery, and in the grocery store. Victor loved the outdoors. Special places for him were Lee River, and the "Purple Pad" at Wallace Lake. Hunting, fishing, curling, bowling, skiing, snowmobiling, golf, hockey and baseball were all activities that he enjoyed doing with his family and friends. In Victor's retirement, along with his many other interests, he became a volunteer driver with International Hope which he continued to do well into his 80s.
Victor's family are grateful to the very caring team of Dr. Hasdan, nurses, clinicians and health care aides during his five week stay on Deer Lodge Rehab 4th floor Ward. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Deer Lodge Foundation.
