Obituary for Therese Madeline Jeanne Dear

Therese Madeline Jeanne Dear

What once we enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us.

On Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 1:30 pm, Therese passed away peacefully in her home in Winnipeg, surrounded by people who loved her. Therese passed away after her brief battle with cancer at the age of 66.

She was predeceased by her sister Marguerite, her father Joseph, and her mother Lea. Therese leaves to mourn her passing her sister Ellen (Willy), brother Roger, her three children and six grandchildren Desmond (Kristie) Avery and Brooklyn, Darryl (Taryn) Zackary and Zane, Melissa (David) Kaeli and Connor. She also leaves to mourn her children’s father John Dear, her cousin Raymond (Judy), her two best friends Linda and Gail, her friend and confidant Shirley Dear, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, extended family and many friends.

Therese was a devoted employee to the Archdiocese of St. Boniface for 22 years, until she was forced to retire due to her health. Therese fought a valiant battle and always said; she was glad it was her that got her disease, if that meant one less person or child didn’t have to.  Therese’s faith, positive attitude, and humour carried her through.

In the garden of memory in the place of dreams…. That is where you and I will meet again.

In keeping with Therese’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will happen at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Therese’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
