L’inhumation privée aura lieu au cimetière de Saint-Lupicin.
Suzanne Prince (née Bergeron) passed away peacefully on Monday, December 19, 2022 at the age of 102. Her obituary was published Saturday December 31, 2022. A funeral mass celebrating her life will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 11:00 am at Saint-Boniface Cathedral, 180 de la Cathédrale Avenue with a reception to follow.
A private interment will be held at the Saint-Lupicin Cemetery.

Elle laisse dans le deuil ses fils Edwin (Joanne), Richard (Betty), Léo (Cynthia), sa fille Anne-Marie (Jim) et ses petits-enfants Marc (Lori), Sophie (Greg), Mélanie (Sean), Jonathan, Éric, Stéfanie (Jacques) et Miguel (Jessica) et neuf arrière-petits-enfants ainsi que ses sœurs Gertrude, Liliane, Marie, Louise, Laurette (Arthur) et ses frères: Joseph (Valérie) et Léandre (Francine).
Elle fut précédée dans la mort par son mari Paul Prince, ses parents Napoléon et Rosalie Bergeron (née Bourrier); ses frères Marcien, Paul et Henri ainsi que ses sœurs Antoinette et Simone.
Née à Saint-Lupicin au Manitoba en février 1920, elle était la deuxième de 13 enfants et par conséquent dès un bas âge elle a dû aider sa mère avec les tâches ménagères et le soin de ses petits frères et de ses petites sœurs pour qui elle était devenue une deuxième maman.
Elle rencontra son prince charmant, Paul en 1948 et ils se marièrent en février 1949.
Suzanne était une femme de grande foi, une mère dévouée envers ses enfants et une grand-mère attentive envers ses petits-enfants. Elle était toujours vibrante de vie, généreuse, accueillante, sociale, aidante et porteuse de joie. Elle avait gardé son cœur d’enfant et disait souvent qu’il fallait que les enfants vivent leur enfance, qu’ils jouent et qu’ils s’amusent. Elle a beaucoup joué avec ses petits-enfants surtout pendant les étés à la propriété familiale de Saint-Lupicin.
Elle était une femme active dans sa communauté: conseil de la Société franco-Manitobaine, bénévole à La Maison Gabrielle-Roy et dans sa paroisse (présidente de la Ligue des femmes catholiques). Chaque année Suzanne participait avec enthousiasme et grande joie au Festival du voyageur souvent comme membre de la chorale Partage de bonheur. Passionnée du théâtre, elle était une abonnée régulière du Cercle Molière. Elle assistait aussi aux présentations de la symphonie, de l’opéra et du ballet.
Suzanne aimait toutes formes d’activités physiques. Elle avait une passion pour la natation passant des heures à Bonivital et dans sa piscine à Saint-Lupicin, faisait du ski de fond, du patinage, de la bicyclette et beaucoup de randonnée à pied. Elle fonda le club de badminton de Saint-Boniface et fut instructrice accréditée de yoga qu’elle enseigna pendant une vingtaine d’années. En plus, elle aimait beaucoup lire et voyager.
Merci, Maman de ton amour, de ton dévouement envers nous et de ta joie de vivre. Tu resteras toujours dans nos cœurs. Repose en paix. Nous t’aimons beaucoup.
Un merci très spécial à sa fille Anne-Marie qui a pris grand soin de notre chère Maman afin d’assurer son confort et son bien-être quotidiennement pendant plusieurs années.

Suzanne will be lovingly remembered by: her sons Edwin (Joanne), Richard (Betty), Léo (Cynthia) and her daughter Anne-Marie Magnifico (Jim), her grandchildren Marc (Lori), Sophie (Greg), Mélanie (Sean), Johnathan, Éric, Stéfanie (Jacques) and Miguel (Jessica), her nine great-grandchildren and her sisters: Gertrude, Liliane, Marie, Louise, Laurette (Arthur) and her brothers: Joseph (Valérie) and Léandre (Francine).
She was predeceased by her husband Paul Prince, her parents Napoléon and Rosalie Bergeron (née Bourrier), her brothers: Marcien, Paul, Henri and her sisters Antoinette and Simone.
Born in the little town of Saint-Lupicin, Manitoba in February 1920, she was the second of the children and from a tender age she was her mother’s little helper tending to chores and taking care of her younger siblings for whom she was a second mother.
She met her Prince charming, Paul, in 1948 and they were married in 1949.
Suzanne was a woman of great faith. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was always full of life, joyful, generous, welcoming, very sociable and always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. Her fondness for children was manifested by how she loved to play with her grandchildren. Many times we heard her say that a child should enjoy his or her childhood by playing and having fun.
Her grandchildren spent many summers in her company playing and swimming on the family summer property in Saint-Lupicin.
Suzanne was very active in her community and parish as a member of numerous committees and as a volunteer. She loved to sing in her choir Partage de Bonheur and enjoyed holding singing parties in her home. The performing arts were of great interest to her and she regularly purchased season tickets to the symphony, the opera and the French theatre Cercle Molière.
Keeping mentally and physically active was an integral part of her life. She enjoyed reading, cross-country skiing, skating, cycling, and she walked everywhere in Saint-Boniface. Swimming and yoga were her passions. She became an accredited yoga instructor and was also the founder of the Saint-Boniface badminton club. She visited some interesting places in her travels.
Thank you, Maman, for your love and devotion to our family and for sharing your joie de vivre with us. You will live on in our hearts forever. We love you dearly.
