Obituary for Shirley Mae Wlock

SHIRLEY MAE WLOCK

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 of Shirley Mae Wlock, a loving mother of two boys, at the age of 62.

Shirley was born on October 11, 1958 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Edward, who predeceased her in 2013, and Patricia Wlock. Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Patricia, her two sons Kyle Barry (Rielle Smith) and Aled Barry, her two sisters Pam Wlock and Jennifer (Sterling) Wuzinski, her grandchildren Izabelle and Zaviel and her nieces Rio and Chloe Fletcher, Daiya, Taryn, Riley, Carys, Peyton Wolanski.

Shirley lived most of her life in Winnipeg, with a short time spent in Newfoundland. She loved spending time outdoors. In her youth ridding her horse Chimo and later camping and fishing with her sons. Shirley’s passion for gardening was instilled by her maternal grandma Millie (Amelia Devlin). Later in life her son Kyle and granddaughter Izabelle introduced her to geocaching while going for hikes in the woods. She adored her two grandchildren and loved making all sorts of crafts with Izabelle. Her favourite pastime with her son Aled was going to the movies and trying new restaurants, something they did at least once or twice a month.

She was a dedicated health care aid and loved her job working with the Oblate sisters at the Villa Aulneau. She brought smiles wherever she went and was loved by both the sisters and the residents alike.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to a charity of your choosing.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
