Obituary for Shawn Jeffery Litman

SHAWN JEFFERY LITMAN
April 3, 1978 – November 25, 2021

It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Shawn Jeffery Litman at the age of 43. Shawn leaves to mourn his passing his children Isabella, Dominic, Georgia, and Victoria, his father Richard Litman (Joan), his mother Leslie Taylor (Clyde), his brothers Randall Litman (Diane), and Chad (Claudia), nephew Marsellus, his children's mother Lisa Thienpondt, stepmom Lorene, Auntie Beverley, step brother Vern, step sister Heather, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and girlfriend, Pam.

Shawn was born in Winnipeg on April 3, 1978. He lived with his mom and dad for the first few years, then just his mom once his parents separated. Shawn developed a deep love and unbreakable bond with his baba and Zaida when he lived with them for the second half of his years in Winnipeg. In 1988, he moved to Calgary where he lived with his father and Lorene, and shortly after his new baby brother Randall joined the family.

Growing up, Shawn loved sports, and he was a very good athlete. His favourite sports to play were badminton, soccer, rugby, and football.

Shawn moved back to Winnipeg in 2004 and he and Lisa started their relationship immediately. By the end of 2005, they welcomed their first daughter, Bella. A little more than 6 years later, Dominic was born, then Georgia in 2013, and Tori in 2016. While back in Winnipeg, he was happy to be able to rebuild his relationship with his mom.

Shawn loved his children more than anything in the world. He was so very proud of them and would always talk about them to everyone. His kids love him just as much. In their eyes, Shawn has always been a superhero. Strong and tough, throwing them in the air, picking them all up at the same time, and able to lift anything.

Shawn was skilled at many things. He was an amazing cook. Everyone loved when Shawn was cooking. He worked as a cook in Calgary but the majority of his time in Winnipeg was spent in construction. Shawn was so proud of the projects he worked on, always pointing them out to everyone. He was the hardest worker on any site, hands down.

The funeral will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Due to Covid restrictions, only those that are invited AND double vaccinated will be allowed to attend. Vaccination card or QR code AND identification will be required at the door. The funeral can also be viewed online at:
