Obituary for Rosalia Saltis

ROSALIA (ROSE) SALTIS

(nee Van Bethray)


It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Rosalia Saltis on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the St. Boniface Hospital.


Rosalia was born on January 30, 1925 in The Hague, Holland, and moved to Canada in 1927. She was predeceased by her parents Cornelius and Anna Van Bethray, sister Wilhemina, husband Ivan, and daughter Julline.


She leaves to mourn; her son Donald Saltis (Rachel Ouimet), daughters Dona Saint-Cyr (Russel), Patricia Bayn (David), all of Winnipeg, Vivian Wyndham (George) of Bonnyville, Alberta, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and one sister Regina Kehler (Peter). She also leaves to mourn her beloved friend and companion, Henry Anders.


After retiring from a career as a seamstress, mom traveled to Holland, Germany, Hawaii, and Cuba.


The family would like to thank Dr. P.G. Mehta for 40 years of wonderful care, the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital, and the WRHA Home Care staff.


In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Rosalia may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation.


In keeping with Rosalia?s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street.
