Obituary for Bob (Masty) Masterton

ROBERT MAGNUS MASTERTON
(MASTY)
MAY 21, 1941 – MARCH 2, 2021

It is with great sadness we announce that Bob passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre after a courageous battle with stomach cancer.

Bob was predeceased by his mom, Rooney, dad, William; brother, Bill and sister-in-law, Carol. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Shirley, “He was my best friend, my rock and soul; my everything.” His “kids” in Minneapolis, Scott, Sally and their families who were like his own, he loved them so much, aunt Pearl, and the McGregor cousins

Bob had an adventurous and happy life with no regrets…well maybe a few. Golf was his passion, whether it be working, playing or travelling and his favourite place in the world was Kona, HI, golfing with the “F Troop”. Niakwa Country Club was his second home and he loved every minute he spent there. Bob loved spending time with friends at Niakwa, The Red Top, Coffee in the food court at St. Vital Mall and his new friends at 360.

A sincere thank you to Erin, Lisa, Zoe and the entire staff at Palliative Care, Unit 3E at Riverview Health Centre, CancerCare St. Boniface and Dr. Candace Bradshaw who was with us all the way.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Masty may be made to Palliative Care Manitoba, the Riverview Health Centre, or CancerCare Manitoba.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.

“Immortality lies not in the things you leave behind, but in the people your life has touched. Sleep well my love, I’ll meet you upstairs later.”
