Richard Brian McGillis
1962 - 2022
It is with sudden shock and sadness, along with heavy hearts that Brian’s family announce his passing December 19, 2022 at the age of 60.
Brian was born to the parents of Tom McGillis (deceased), and Shirley Nicol. He attended Crocus Plains School where he loved playing on their football team and graduated from there. Brian also enjoyed curling, lacrosse, water skiing and fishing at Sandy Lake, along with many family gatherings. We all have wonderful memories of those times. He also enjoyed playing poker throughout the years until his passing.
Brian had worked at McKenzie Seeds for two years in Brandon and then decided to move to Winnipeg. He started working for Boeing until his retirement after 25 years. Brian was just getting settled in his new home to enjoy his retirement.
Brian leaves to mourn his mother, Shirley Nicol; brother, Ken(Sue) and nephew, Dore; sister, Brenda(Michael) Bilowus and their children Adam and Eric; step brother, Clint Nicol (Rhonda)and their daughters, Jordan (Justin) and Hailey; step sister, Brenda Nicol (Lee) as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Brian was predeceased by grandparents on both sides; his father, Tom; stepfather, David Nicol; his nephew, Darren McGillis along with many aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers you can make a donation in memory of Brian to the Human Society or other animal organizations, as Brian loved animals.
