Obituary for Phung Luu

PHUNG LUU

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Phung Luu, on November 6, 2019 at the age of 91.

Phung is survived by 8 children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was born in Cho Lon, Vietnam on July 15, 1926, and immigrated to Canada in June 1986. She was the widow of Xan Cau Luu. Phung devoted her life to family, and over her lifespan nurtured a wonderful, large, tight-knit family. She had a particularly fond heart for children and took care of many in her lifetime including her many grandchildren. She enjoyed watching TV, going shopping, and sharing meals. She had a soft spot for furry creatures, cats and dogs alike.

Phung was a fierce woman who asserted her independence. She was thoughtful and always quick to ask whether you have eaten, and before hearing a response would offer food. She will always be remembered for her caring soul, loving character and brilliant smile. She smiled and laughed into her last days. Her presence will greatly be missed.

Viewing and prayers will be held on Wednesday, November 13 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 14 at 9:30 a.m. also in the Coutu Funeral Chapel.
