Obituary for Paul Joseph Albert Roy

Paul Joseph Albert Roy
August 30, 1949 – January 12, 2024

Peacefully after a lengthy illness on January 12, 2024.

He leaves behind sisters Madeleine, Claudette (Michael) Abney, brothers Maurice (Penny) and Robert (Crystal) as well as nieces and nephews Richard, Jessica, Jocelyne, Lucien, Jeff, Jordan, Catie, Cody, Eva and Jay, their spouses and children. Predeceased by parents Gerard and Pauline Roy, sister Helene (Bryce) Rohn. Paul grew up in St. Pierre Jolys, playing hockey and baseball for many years. Paul was a very family-proud man, taking much pride in the accomplishments of those near and dear to him. Great teller of jokes and stories, with an amazing capacity to remember details and dates about family and friends alike. Paul spent many years in Government service, four years with the RCMP then with Canada Border Services until his retirement. Paul had a love of woodworking and construction, the results of which can be found in numerous homes in and around Emerson. Measure twice and cut once was his motto. His other passion was golf, and there were few courses in the area he had not played, his favourites being St. Pierre and Emerson. Of course he knew all the regular players by name and could describe the course layouts precisely.

Special thanks to friend Ken Schwark, and to Emerson Fire Department First Responders for their care and kindness to Paul.

Private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Coutu Funeral Home.
