Obituary for Paul Louis Joseph Renaud

PAUL RENAUD
November 3, 1935 – December 27, 2021

With sad hearts and wonderful memories we announce the sudden passing of Paul Renaud on December 27, 2021 at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 86 years.

At the age of 17 years Paul joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served overseas as a leading aircraftman for five years when he was honourably discharged after being in a car accident. Upon his return he went back to school and received his butcher’s papers. But chose not to pursue this as a career. He worked at Deer Lodge Hospital as an orderly until a patient wounded him and he decided to look for another job. That’s when he joined the Canada Post Office and worked downtown sorting mail until his retirement in 1990. He was a very proud member of his legion.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, May of 58 years; a son, Brian (Mary), two daughters, Elyse (Garry) Muir and Paula (Glenn) Barbour of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Alyssa (David) Hrabi, Jade Barbour and fiancée Robin Armstrong, Corey (Courtney) Muir and Cole (Keitha) Barbour. Four great-grandchildren Kallum, Theodore, Hazel and Briggs. His sisters, Stella Mistelbacher and Rita Carrette, brothers, Leo, Gerry and Richard (Janet); numerous nieces and nephews.

You will be forever in our hearts, and greatly missed.

Please join us on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street to share memories and celebrate Paul’s life. Interment to follow at St. Vital Cemetery.
