Obituary for Orest Michael Stasiuk

OREST MICHAEL STASIUK

On Thursday, August 1st, 2013, the world lost a great man.

Orest Michael Stasiuk was born and raised in the Roblin area of Manitoba. He attended high school at St Vladmir’s College and then pursued his education in agriculture at the University of Manitoba. Orest was a lifelong and dedicated employee of Mack Manitoba, where he was a legend in his field.

He leaves behind the love of his life Joan, his son Cameron (Lexi), his daughter Amber (Jeff) and his little peanut and only grandchild, Isla Presley. He was a loving brother to Vicky (Lorne) and children, Sophie (Andy) and daughter, Victor and children, Bishop Peter, Sylvia (Alain) and children. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Yvonne and brothers-in-law; Ron (Rosemary) and children, Barry (Debby) and children, Marc (Donna) and children, Denis (Nancy), Grant and children. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Katie, sister Joyce, father-in-law Leon, and son Michael.

His loyalty and charm will be forever missed. This big-hearted man could walk into a room full of strangers and come out with at least one lifelong friend. He was a loving and devoted husband and the greatest dad anyone could have asked for. Orest was constantly going out of his way in order to ensure everyone else’s happiness, be it business or family.

In keeping with Orest?s wishes, cremation has taken place and a funeral mass celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph?s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Orest may be made to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 9Z9 or to Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 9Z9.

“If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together,

keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever.”
