Obituary for Norman David Stertz, CD,SSM

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, husband, opa, Norman David Stertz on October 20, 2023, at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB.

Predeceased by his parents David & Elizabeth (Kramer) Stertz; his sisters Lenore Murowski and Evelyn Downes.

Left to cherish fond memories, wife Ann; daughters from first marriage, Susan Therrien (Mark), Shirley Stertz, Brenda Lloyd (Terry), Norma Stertz-Rioux (Pierrot); stepchildren John, Natasha Golding (Geoff), Tanya. 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Norm (dad) was a proud Veteran of the RCASC for 32 years. Serving in numerous postings in Canada and West Germany.

In his past time he enjoyed fishing & hunting. There will always be great fishing stories to be remembered about the one that got away. Dad enjoyed taking & teaching his grandchildren all about fishing, where there would be a competition of who would be "The Fishin Magician".

One of his favourite fishing saying was "Give that man a Rapala".

Norm also considered himself a student of the Whitetail Deer.

The past few summers were spent up in Pinefalls at Bluewater Campground, where they had their camper.

The family would like to thank the doctors & nurses from St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit for their care & compassion of dad. Also, the sincere kindness shown to our family.

Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. November. 15, 2023 at E.J. Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street with reception and interment to follow.

For those who wish, a recording of the service may be viewed by selecting the 'Photos & Videos' tab at the top of the page and scroll down and click 'Watch Webcast'.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
