Obituary for Nola Lorraine Perrier (Nesti)

NOLA LORRAINE PERRIER
(nee NESTI)

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Nola Lorraine Perrier at Actionmarguerite, St. Boniface, on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.

Nola is survived by her son Fred Perrier (Jocelyn), daughter Theresa Daniuk, six grandchildren; Cory (Mandie), Neil (Janelle), Jean Paul (Nancy), Jamie (Nick), Nicole (Brandon), and Stephen, and seven great-grandchildren; Breanne, Lauren, Nico, Logan, Deric, Wesley, and Beau. She is also survived by her very special niece Frances Bryant of Vancouver, BC.

Nola was predeceased by her husband Darcy, parents Frank and Frances Nesti and eight siblings.

After graduating high school, Nola worked for Great West Life for several years until she married Darcy and they started their family. She then became a wife and mother, a job she loved and excelled at. In the mid-seventies she decided to re-enter the workplace securing a job in the restaurant industry. She enjoyed over 25 years in that field before retiring, allowing her and Darcy to spend more time at their much-loved cabin at Lester Beach. They had many get-togethers with family and friends at the lake, leaving many fond memories for all. Nola had a love for gardening (both flowers and vegetables) and her flower garden at the family cabin was a sight to behold. Being of Italian descent she also enjoyed cooking, which was appreciated by her family, knitting, reading mystery novels, playing card games, and was the champion of the WFP Saturday crossword puzzle. But most of all her favourite thing of all was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she loved deeply.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Actionmarguerite for the wonderful, compassionate care they provided to our mother. Also thank you to Dr. Cam Lowden who provided many years of exceptional care. We would also like to acknowledge one of mom's dearest friends Lucy for years of steadfast friendship as well as numerous other friends mom made over the years.

In keeping with Nola's wishes, no funeral service will take place. A small family gathering will take place at an undetermined time in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, or a charity of your choice.
