Obituary for Nicholas R. "Nick" Harman

Nicholas (Nick) R. Harman

It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Nicholas Harman on Monday, January 19, 2015 at St. Boniface Hospital. He was very proud to say he was 90 years old.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Katherine (Kay), with whom he cherished and shared 63 years of marriage; his four children: Diane, Shirley (Darrell), Ken (Alison) and Janet; two wonderful grandchildren: Amber Dawn (Orville) and Clayton; sister Terry Borozny, and countless family members and friends that loved and adored him.

Nick was predeceased by his parents: Harry and Nellie; sister Ann Kamfoly, brothers: John, Bill, and Michael Harapiak; and sons-in-law: Bill Kaiser and Rick Davis.

Nick was a proud Veteran of the Second World War, who served overseas in the Proval Corp. He was an appreciative member and volunteer at three legions throughout his life, Branches: 215, 141 and Stonewall 52.

He was employed as a car salesman most of his life and retired from the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires.

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses of 5A Cardiology at St. Boniface Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Nick may be made to St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation.

In keeping with Nick’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street.
