Obituary for Nancy Lea Silk (Decock)
NANCY LEA SILK
(nee Decock)
May 11, 1935 – August 3, 2023
Nancy passed away in her sleep on August 3, 2023 at Park Manor Nursing Home at the age of 88 years.
Predeceased by her parents, Emile and Grace Decock and three sisters, Lucy Johnson, Joan DeSutter and Marlene Derzak, Nancy is survived by her husband, Clarence, sons Tim (Maureen) and Rory, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Nancy grew up in St. Boniface and attended King George V School. She was very proud of her Belgian ancestry. Nancy and Clarence were married on August 2, 1952 and lived on McMeans Avenue West in Transcona for many years, where they raised their family. They later enjoyed apartment life at Appleton Estates on Niakwa Road, until poor health necessitated a move to Park Manor.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 10:00 am at E.J. Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street. Interment will follow at St. Vital Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diabetes Canada.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Park Manor Nursing Home for everything they did for Nancy during the time she resided there.
