Obituary for Melvin Gordon Puscas

MELVIN PUSCAS

Suddenly on August 22, 2020, Mel passed away at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 76 years, with Maureen at his side.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to the emergency ward staff.

He will be missed so much by Maureen, Laura and family; Kelly and family, his son
Tyler (Vecky Kim), and his daughter Jodie (Todd) and his two beautiful granddaughters Ava and Zoe. He loved those little girls.

Also missing him are his two brothers Alban and Billy, Sister-in-law Carolyn and nephew Bobby; Sister-in-law Barbara and his former wife Dianne (Bob) and many nieces and nephews.

Mel loved sports. As a young man growing up in Regina he played baseball, hockey and football.
He went to University where he obtained his Masters Degree in Education. Later he and Dianne moved to Winnipeg where he taught in the Pembina Trails School Division and the Louis Riel School Division (Glenlawn Collegiate and Dakota Collegiate). He really connected with his students and he was known as "Mr. P".

In 2002 Mel went to South Korea to teach English as a second language. He enjoyed his year there with his son Tyler. Mel and Maureen also enjoyed visits to Cochrane.

In his retirement he enjoyed visiting Jodie, Tyler and Todd and they enjoyed watching the Canucks hockey games together. His granddaughters loved having Poppa P. visit them, and Luke will miss Grandpa Mel and his beans!

Mel enjoyed puttering around in the kitchen with his loyal dog Mickey and without a doubt, Mel made the best ribs in town. The secret was in the sauce!!

Cremation has taken place and in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mel’s memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Mel, we will all miss you….

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
