MAURICE JOSEPH FROBISHER

Maurice Joseph Frobisher, 78, of Winnipeg, MB passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 surrounded by his wife Claudette, son David, wife Sheryl, daughter Lisa and husband Augie.

Maurice was born to parents Alfred and Josephine Frobisher, on December 19, 1940 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was the baby boy of the family with 13 siblings and the second youngest child. He grew up in the family home on Frobisher Road where he resided on/off with his family until he purchased his first house in 1977, at 999 St. Mary’s Road. He married the love of his life, Claudette, in 1963.

Maurice was employed as a Custodian with the Louis Riel School Division and upon retiring, he went on to drive a school bus. He only officially stopped working a few years prior to his passing. He was known for his love of family, camping and camp fires, many miles of day-driving excursions, word-searches, music and of course sharing a beer while doing it all.

Maurice will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Claudette; daughter Lisa (Augie); son David (Sheryl); Grandchildren Tanner, Tyler and Jessie; and his last living sibling Eddie (Adrienne), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

At Maurice’s request, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service was held on May 16, 2019.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Christine, a Respiratory Nurse at St. Boniface Hospital for the compassion given to Maurice during the last two years.

In lieu of flowers, if friend so desire, donations in memory of Maurice may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 301-1 Wesley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4C6
