Obituary for Mary Agnes Morier

MARY AGNES MORIER

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Agnes Morier (nee McGarry) at Concordia Hospital surrounded with her family on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the age of 70 years.

She was predeceased by her parents Agnes and Bill and daughter Agnes Mary. She leaves to mourn her husband of 49 years Ernie, her son Richard (Erica), daughters Donna (Mark) and Lori (Davy); along with her grandchildren: Kristen, Melissa, Garett, Colby, Stacy, Joshua, Kali, Devri and great-grandchild Rylan.

She also leaves her best friend and sister Bernadette MacKenzie (Garry), her brothers Bill and Terry McGarry. Nancy Lambert, one of Mary’s longest and dearest friends, Wayne Lambert her second son as well as, Ryan and Shawn MacKenzie that were like her own kids. Mary was blessed with so many friends in her life that it would be too many to name, but know she always held you close to her heart.

Mary loved to cook and bake, she showed her love through cooking. There was no way you would stop in without having dinner or something to eat. Mary was known for making the best pies and when she did, she always made two or three different kinds to make everyone happy. Mary and Ernie’s place was always known as the place to be before and after going out. Mary always got the most enjoyment from surrounding herself with family and friends.

Mary worked as a homemaker as her kids were growing up. Once the kids were grown she started working for The Hudson Bay Co. where she moved up quickly becoming the manager of the Paddlewheel restaurant. Mary loved working at Paddlewheel restaurant and thought of it as her own. After working for approximately 30 years Mary retired from the Bay.

Mary loved her grandchildren and great-grandson. She was very proud of her extended family and cherished her time spent with each of them. Mary also loved spending time at Grand Beach where she was truly happy around family and friends.

One of Mary’s greatest joys was spending time with her family and friends celebrating the special moments of life, and the family is very blessed to have received her love.

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at both the St. Boniface and the Concordia Hospitals for the excellent care and compassion given to Mary while in their care.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire donations in memory of Mary may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye mom

with all our love and memories your family!!!
