Obituary for Jacinthe Shand

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear wife, mom, memere, sister and friend - Jacinthe (Jace). She is truly the strongest woman we have been blessed to have in our lives. She has struggled with her health for 14 years and she has had many challenges over the years, and fought them all with strength and perseverance. Her faith and love for her family and friends has enabled her to overcome so many obstacles that we thought she could not overcome. She was such a selfless woman, putting everyone before herself, always.

Jacinthe loved her time at Albert beach, her happy place. Spending time at the cabin with family and friends was a haven for her, the more the merrier. She was also known for her remarkable recall of events including birthdays, anniversaries and would be sure everyone knew how old you were turning or how many years since an event had occurred.

She has had so many pains over the years, so many discomforts and she is now at peace. She was predeceased by her parents; Amedee and Antoinette Marion; brother Don; sister-in-law Candace, sister-in-law Diane; and nephew Eli. Jacinthe (Jace) leaves mourning her husband of 49 years Ian; their two children Tiffany (Dave), Ryan (Zoe); and grandchildren whom she adored; Nic (17), Morgan (15) and Zev (6). Jacinthe was fortunate to have a large family whom she was very close with. Her sisters and brother will miss her dearly, Gisele (Pat), Diane, (Bev), Guy, Nicole (Len), Lou (Cal), Lisette (Dan) and sister-in-law Carmen (Ross). She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, and so, so many friends. Doris Kenny- Lodewyks we cannot thank you enough for everything over the years.

Jacinthe’s kind soul, loving spirit and faith in God will be sorely missed. Rest peacefully Jacinthe, you fought a hard and courageous battle and you will be missed immensely.

A funeral will be held at St. Adolphe Catholic Church on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 1:30 p.m.
Prayers will take place at 1:00 p.m.
