Agathe Saelens

It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Agathe Saelens, at home, on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at the age of 82 years.
She is survived by daughters, Lilliane Dusablon (Leo), Louise Jenvenne (Marc), Pauline Bellin (Len); sons, Paul Saelens, Claude Saelens (Linette); grandchildren, Justin, Colin, Kevin (Brittany) Dusablon, Courtney, Jeremy Jenvenne, Gregory, Jennifer Bellin, Devon, Christine, Dylan Saelens, and eight great – grandchildren; sister, Alice Hartley (Jack); and brother, Edward Gagnon (Patricia).
Agathe was predeceased by her husband, Pierre Edmond Victor Saelens, and her parents, Prime Gagnon and Eugenie Gagnon (nee Letendre). She was also predeceased by a son at birth, Pierre Paul Saelens.
Agathe was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB. She loved and often reminisced, the time she spent at the family farm in La Broquerie, MB., as a small girl. She was fond of all animals, especially cats, and was a supporter of the Winnipeg SPCA.
Agathe was a dedicated mother and housewife and she loved the summer home that she and Pierre built at Wendigo Beach, Lac du Bonnet, MB., where every weekend and summer was spent for over 40 years. It was her favorite place to be.
In accordance with Agathe’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will take place at a later date.
