Maria Rosa Aiello

(nee Masi)

1927 ? 2012

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Maria on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the age of 85.

Mom was born on October 2, 1927 in Amato, Italy and was married in 1947 to Andrea Aiello. Together, they immigrated to Buenos Aires, Argentina and later immigrated to Canada in 1959. Maria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all the lives she touched.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 65 years Andrea; daughter Caterina Di Nella and husband Mario; daughter Rosamaria; son Raffaele and wife Alda; grandchildren Amalia (Ryan), Robert, Alissa and Andrew; great-grandsons Connor and Brennan. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters Elvira and Lena (Amerigo) and brothers Saturno (Giuseppina), Pasquale (Naomi) and Raffeale (Carmela). Maria was predeceased by her brothers Francesco, Bernardino, Giuseppe and brother-in-law Tomasso. She will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.

Maria was a warm and loving person who took great pride and joy in cooking for her family and friends. She was famous for her homemade ravioli and gnocchi for which she proudly opened her home for all to enjoy.

With sincere gratitude we wish to thank the residents at 64 Nassau Street N for the kindness and love that they have shown Maria over the last seven years. We would also like to thank the Home Care staff for their caring and gentle nature that they showed our mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba.

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Maria?s life will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Avenue, with Father Sam Argenziano presiding. Viewing will be one hour prior to the mass. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Avenue. Pallbearers will be Robert Di Nella, Andrew Aiello, Tom Masi, Ben Ferraro, David Masi, and Adam Masi.
