Margaret (Peggy) Marie Knettle

(nee Messier)

Peggy peacefully passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 87 years.
Margaret Marie Messier was born April 3, 1927, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Messier. She was united in marriage to Ronald William Knettle on August 30, 1948 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He preceded her in death May 20, 1986.
She is survived by her children: Dianne Barnes (Ian) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Sherry Knettle (Peter) of Devon, Alberta, Kerry Knettle of Prince George BC, Christine Murray (Terry) of Winnipeg Manitoba, her 9 loving grandchildren: Marnie, Leanne, Cammy, Gabriel, Michael, Tristan, Ariel, Jade & Ridge and 7 great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Pat Farley and her husband Gord.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded by a son, Brian Knettle , grandson Craig Knettle, brother Bill Messier , and dear friend Denis Comeault.
Peggy graduated from Kelvin High School in 1945 where she made life-long friends with a group of gals who called themselves the Sewing Club. She was a homemaker, a devoted mother and wife. Peggy was a devout member of the Catholic Church where she was in attendance every Sunday without fail. Peggy was always happy when she was near water especially spending her summers camping at Toniata Beach on Falcon Lake and at her trailer in St Malo. Peggy was also an avid downhill skier and continued skiing until she was 75 years old.
Thanks to Ellen Peterson for visiting Peggy and brightening up her last few days. We would also like to thank the fantastic staff at 3 West Wing at the Riverview Health Centre for making her stay comfortable.
In keeping with Peggy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 19, 2015, in the Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Peggy`s name to Siloam Mission whom Peggy supported throughout her life.
