MAGDA ANDERSON
After a courageous battle with ALS, it is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of MAGDA ANDERSON on October 9, 2022.
Maggie as she was affectionately called, will be lovingly remembered by her husband Mark Otte, her son Christopher and daughter-in-law Annemarie, her parents, Marian and Nela (Magda) Hudec, sister Jane (Rob) and brother Michael Hudec (Miranda), stepsons Cliff (Kelsey) and Steven (Ashley), grandchildren Logan, Stevie, and Millie, and her aunts, uncles, cousins as well as her extended family and friends.
Born in BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA on April 9, 1967, Maggie immigrated to Winnipeg with her parents at the young age of one and half years. After graduating she married Jim Anderson and began to raise Christopher while continuing to further her education. She became a CGA and began her professional career in various positions in accounting, retiring as assistant manager from Great West Life in 2018. Maggie was well respected and extremely dedicated in her leadership role.
In 2007, Maggie’s world was turned upside down by the sudden passing of her first husband Jim. Maggie and Jim enjoyed their weekend life at STAR LAKE, a place that was dear to them and where they made many great memories with their son Chris.
Maggie found her second love, Mark, to share her love of life with. After retirement, Mark and Maggie made the cabin their home as well as pursued their passion for travelling, especially during winter. She had a gift for planning the best vacations. Maggie and Mark saw a lot of the world and all of the United States in their football chase, leaving only two NFL stadiums on their to-do list.
Her life, though too short, was well-lived. We will all miss her smile, energy, beauty, and love she shared with others.
Rest peacefully our dear Maggie.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maggie may be made to ALS Society of MB.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street.
