Obituary for Lora-Lee Miller (Tisdall)

Lora-Lee Miller
(Nee Tisdall)

With profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Lora-Lee Miller on November 17, 2020 at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 49.

She is survived by her husband Jeff Miller of 17 years, her mother Ede and step-father Doug Heuchert, brothers Mark Tisdall (Amy), Dallas Heuchert (Meghan), grandmother Evelyn Burns (Stan), and brother- in-law Trevor (Nicole), sisters-in-law Laurel Hickey (Dave), Tannys Miller (Todd Gibson), mother-in-law Gayle Miller, and father-in law Ron Miller (Shelley Killeen) as well as her niece and nephews; Kayden, Hunter, Esme, Lewis, Dylan, Finn, Thomas, and Soren. Lora was an amazing auntie and was especially proud to be asked to be god-parent to baby Soren.

Lora-Lee Miller was born in Brandon on February 16, 1971 and moved to Winnipeg in 1972. The family then moved to Saskatoon in 1979, and settled in Clavet, SK. in 1980 where she grew up on the family dairy farm, developing a deep love of animals. She graduated from Vincent Massey Collegiate in 1992 and later completed a course from Edutech. She pursued numerous commodity and security courses finally becoming Chair of the Board and Chief Compliance Officer of R.J. O’Brien & Associates of Canada Inc. and the Chair of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada, Manitoba District Council. She was very proud of these accomplishments.

She married her loving husband Jeff on August 30, 2003. She enjoyed her cats, her backyard oasis, cooking, reading and watching true crime stories, cottage life on Lake of the Woods, travelling with her husband to many faraway destinations, and entertaining with friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Lora may be made to MacDonald Youth Centre, 175 Mayfair Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0A1, or the Winnipeg Lost Cat Alert, Box 39099, Winnipeg, MB R2X 3B3. The MacDonald Youth Centre was very instrumental in helping Lora in her youth.

Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Boniface Hospital for the compassionate care given to Lora-Lee.

Lora was a kind, generous, and loving person and will be greatly missed by family and friends. She will remain in our hearts forever.

Cremation has taken place and due to restrictions on public gatherings, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
