Obituary for Lidia Konstantinovna Heckert

.

We are saddened by the loss of Lidia, our stepmother. She was a wife, mother, stepmother, grandma, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend.

At the age of 78 Lidia passed away while resting in her bed shortly after she was moved from her recliner chair on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

After dad passed away she was left with a big hole in her heart that she never really recovered from.

Lidia will be missed by her step-son Adam; step-daughter Dana (Jeff); grandchildren Tyler, Lise (Neil), Brady and Avery.

She will be remembered by her sister-in-law Shirley (Richard); brother-in-law Marlowe; nephew Brendan (Beverly); nieces Shanna (Jay), Shaelene (Cordell), Breanne; and great-nephews Brady, Zachary, Carter, Rhys, and Asher.

Lidia was predeceased by her parents in Russia, mother-in-law Martha, her two sons, and our dad.

When Lidia arrived in Canada her and dad were married, and life went on from there. They travelled and did lots of sight seeing to show her all he could.

Lidia was a talented seamstress making anything you could imagine. She altered and custom made anything you wanted. She also had an amazing talent for needle point / cross stitch. Her work was amazing. The beautiful pictures she has done were outstanding! The pictures always had great meaning and will be memories for us.

She loved to garden, work and tinker in the yard, and enjoyed cooking with dad. She was a very quiet person, but was always listening and paying attention to what was going on.

Go rest easy with dad now Lidia. You will always be missed and remembered. Rest in peace.

Adam and I would like to extend our thanks to the Emerson Health Center in Emerson, Manitoba. They took great care of Lidia in the last two years that she has been there, especially since dad passed – they were always there for her. Also an extra thanks to Millie who I (Dana) spoke to almost daily over the past two months since her fall. Thanks for being with her on her last day. We really appreciate all that you have done.

A graveside service will take place on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Beausejour. A Celebration of Life Lunch will follow.
