Obituary for Leo Paul Renaud

It is with extreme sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leo Renaud, peacefully on October 26, 2023, at age 94, at the Poseidon Care Home.

Leo was predeceased by his wife Camille, his mother Annette, his father Joseph, brothers Marcel, John, and Paul, sisters Ida and May.

Left to cherish his memory are son Ron, grandchildren David (Sam) and Olivia, along with sister Stella and Rita, brothers Gerry and Dick as well as many nieces and nephews.

We sincerely appreciate the doctors, nurses and staff on the 5th floor at the Poseidon Care home for the kind and compassionate care Leo received during his last few years .

Leo was born February 18, 1929 in St. Boniface, Manitoba. This is where he was raised along with his 9 other siblings. In 1955, Leo and Camille were married and went on to celebrate 68 years of marriage. In 1959, they brought their son Ron into the world, who they centered their lives around.

Leo enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved getting together with Ron and his family for diners where they shared lots of laughs, good food and most importantly his favorite deserts, pie and ice cream.

Lots of memories were made on their balcony each summer, enjoying the sunshine and each others company.

Leo was always quick to lend a helping hand to the neighbors, or putter around their apartment where Leo and Camille spent their last 27 years together.

Sundays you could always find him glued to the TV watching NASCAR or a Blue Jays game.

Leo spent the majority of his hard working years driving trucks for Supercrete Concrete Products until age 55. He then spent the last 10 years working for the Lous Riel School Division. He officially retired with the school division at age 65.

One of Leo and Camille’s greatest joys was spending many great years with friends as a member of La Verendrye Club, dancing the night away.

Leo was most proud of his family, Ron and his grandchildren David and Olivia. His face would always light up when the grandkids went over.

In keeping with Leo’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private ceremony was held on November 2, 2023 at St. Boniface cemetery where he was laid to rest. He is now reunited with Camille the love of his life.
