Obituary for Leo Omer Joseph Lecocq

LEO OMER JOSEPH LECOCQ


April 7, 1947 – October 22, 2019


Peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, October 22, 2019, Léo passed away at the age of 72 years.


Léo is survived by his three children Norm (Mona), Nicole (Cory) and Cathy (Todd)

along with his five grandchildren, Rachelle, Alex, Ben, Kahnor & Lachlan.  He is also survived by his mother Thérèse , his three sisters, Dianne (Tony),Pauline (John) and Suzanne (the late Jerry) and several nieces and nephews as well as Juliette (his children’s mother).


Léo was predeceased by his father, Omer.


Dad was born in St. Boniface and grew up in Winnipeg spending his entire life there.  In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and golfing until he was unable to do so anymore, he also enjoyed watching hockey.


Dad was a hard worker, sometimes working two jobs to provide for his family. He was a kind and gentle person, generous in helping others when time permitted, he also loved to laugh and make jokes.  Dad was very proud of his children and his grandchildren and loved them very much.


The family wishes to thank the staff at Actionmarguerite St. Vital for their care and compassion during his time there.


A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at E. J. Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street, Winnipeg, MB.


In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Léo’s memory to Diabetes Canada.
