Obituary for Lawrence Ronald Anderson

Lawrence Ronald Anderson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lawrence Ronald Anderson. He passed away March 2, 2021 at the age of 83 years, with his wife and children by his side. He fought a courageous battle with cancer for over 20 years. He will forever be remembered by Anne, his loving wife of 61 years, his son Ronald (Marie) Anderson, his daughter Cynthia (Leonard) Carlson, their beloved dog Jewely, as well as many family members and friends.

He is survived by his siblings Glen (Angelene) Anderson, Elizabeth Nahaczewski, Allen Anderson, Doreen (Stewart) Colbert, Joan Donaldson (Hal Dawson), sister-in-law Elizabeth Karman, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Wesley and Evelyn Anderson, in-laws Andrew and Anna Karman, plus son-in-law James Emslie.

Dad was born May 11, 1937 in Anola, MB. He made his career with MTS, and after 38 years of service, he retired from Eastern Region Engineering at the age of 55. After retirement Dad and Mom moved to Lac Du Bonnet, built a loving home on the Lee River and enjoyed countless hours with family and friends. Winters were spent in Arizona, making new friends and enjoying life. Their travels weren’t limited to Arizona. Many years ago, they took their children to Europe to visit Mom’s hometown of Lentvora, Slovakia (known then as Czechoslovakia). They also embarked on many cruises throughout the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, Hawaii and Alaska.

In his later years, Dad enjoyed the peacefulness of nature in Richer, MB. He cherished the property, spent countless hours developing and maintaining the site. He loved weekends camping with family at their “private resort”. Days there were filled with great food, much fun and plenty of laughter.

A private service and interment will be held with family, followed by a celebration of life at a later date.

We would like to thank the staff at St Boniface Hospital 5B for the compassion they showed Dad. A special thanks to Linda, Lisa and Kelly for their help and care towards us during these troubled times.
Also thank you to CancerCare Manitoba, Dr P. Harris and staff in Concordia Hospital and his physician Dr K. Grace for all their outstanding care and support for Dad over the many years.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the CancerCare Manitoba.

Rest In Peace My Love.
