Katherine (Kay) Harman
nee Panaschuk
While her laughter, hugs, charm, and humour will be with us forever, Kay is now reunited with her beloved Nick.
Fiercely independent and full of poise and wit – Kay grew up in rural Manitoba (when horsepower literally meant…horse power). When she moved to Winnipeg, she met and fell in love with Nick. After they got married and built their home in Rivercrest, her priority became raising their four wonderful children whom she adored. Though they were a handful, it didn’t stop her from living an active life with family, friends, gardening, baseball, curling and eventually post-retirement legion dances, travels, and golf.
Along the way, Kay became Baba Kay – a title she wore proudly. Her two perfect (never-a-handful) grandchildren thought the absolute world of her – and she took every chance she could to spoil and love them in return. The stories, laughs, and time she shared with them over the years will be treasured forever.
At 93, she still lived independently in her home – making cheesecake for special family dinners, and adorning her yard each spring with the brightest, prettiest flowers she could find. Despite her many hilarious attempts to stop them, the bunnies are no doubt going to miss the delicious buffets she grew.
Mom was a very special and amazing person and will remain forever in the hearts of her kids; Diane Kaiser (Eric), Shirley Olson (Darrell), Ken Harman (Alison), and Janet Davis. As well as her grandchildren Amber and Clayton Olson, and her brother Harry Panaschuk (Heather).
Special thanks to the nurses and doctors at CancerCare Manitoba and Riverview Health Centre for all their help and care.
As per Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba
