Obituary for Paul Verrier

PAUL VERRIER
November 8, 1940 – September 7, 2020

Peacefully, after a short battle with cancer, Paul passed away at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg Monday September 7, 2020 at the age of 79.

Sixteenth child of J. W. Verrier and Maria Fisette born in Steinbach, Manitoba.
Predeceased by his parents, his brothers Edmond (Simone Kirouac), Eugene (Solange Courcelles), and Joseph (Lea Richard), as well as sisters Marguerite Laurin (Eugene), Therese Richard (George), Alice Fournier (Noel), Yvonne Gosselin (Henri), Helene Bedard (Noe). Survived by sisters Marie Duclos (Augustin), Cecile Arnal (Roland), Pauline Piche (Laurent), Claudette Bison (Leandre), Rita Boulet (Raymond), and brother Pierre (Rita Michaud), along with numerous nieces and nephews.

As a young man, Paul worked on the family dairy farm in La Broquerie, leaving for adventure in Winnipeg. Working with his brother Joe for Champagne Heavy Building Movers, Paul eventually purchased his own truck. He moved concrete blocks and pipes for Supercrete, Kildonan Concrete and Lafarge Building Material before retiring after 31 years of employment.
Paul remained active throughout his retired years enjoying the company of others especially in music and dance.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family will be having a private celebration of life at the E.J. Coutu funeral home, Wednesday, September 16 at 2:00 p.m.
