Obituary for Father John Kracher

Father John Kracher
Our beloved Marianist, Father John Kracher went home to Jesus, Mary, and all the holy Saints and Angels on October 7th, 2023, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.

John was born to Hedwig and Michael Kracher on May 14, 1936. As a young child, John was captivated by the beauty of creation, and loved collecting rocks and leaves. He wanted to give his life to Jesus and Mary, and so joined the Marianist brothers at the age of 21 in Galesville, Wisconsin, making his first profession of vows one year later, in 1958.

John’s love for Jesus and Mary knew no bounds, as he made every encounter a precious opportunity for grace, tenderness, and joy. John joins his parents, his younger brother James, and many holy Marianists in heaven. John is survived by his youngest brother Michael (Vicky), nephew Michael, niece Shaunda, and the Marianist family.

A prayer service with adoration and worship will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. in the Parish of St. Timothy, 135 John Forsyth Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Boniface Cathedral, 180 Rue de la Cathedrale, with viewing one hour prior.
