Obituary for Jocelyne M. Tougas

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jocelyne M. Tougas on April 11, 2023, at age 88 years.

Jocelyne was predeceased by her husband Louis and her daughter Lise, her sister Jeannine and brother in-laws Jack Lubben and Dollard Godin, her parents, Philippe, and Antonia (nee Daigneault),

She is survived by her daughters Lynne and Michelle, grandchildren’s, André (Paige), Danielle (Brennan) Dale and great-grandchild, Daycen and sister Marielle and brother Edgar (Madeleine) also sister’s in-law Marie Tack, Irma Verrier and Rachelle Gauthier (André) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jocelyne was born in Ste. Anne, MB on November 8, 1934, where she lived most of her life until moving to the city in 2019. Married for over 62 years to the love of her life Louis, and raised her family and worked as a postmaster in Ste. Anne until her retirement.

Mom enjoyed traveling and visiting relatives out west, always looking her best, as well as dancing with dad on a Saturday night .Much of Jocelyne leisure time was spent supporting her children's, grandchildren’s and great grandchild interests in Soccer, Hockey, and Basketball.

Mom had special talents, knowledge and expertise which was shared to all who knew her. Her fun hobbies included cooking, knitting, cross stitching with her youngest daughter Lise, finishing a 2000-piece puzzle in a day which dad liked to dismantle the corners from time to time, and cruising with dad to the city where she loved to shop with the girls, and meet with friends and family.

She always made every holiday special, her passion was decorating the house from top to bottom that everyone could see, lost count of how many Santa Claus she had….. But the best time for mom was having all her family over for Sunday dinners which she always made the best meals. Mémère enjoyed fun times spoiling the grandkids and her great grandchild which she adored. In the summer, she would love a good game of darts in the backyard with family members and playing cards or just sit around the kitchen table and talk for hours.

Mom, Mémère, Sister, Aunt and Friend will be remembered for her generosity and thoughtfulness , always putting the needs above everyone else.

Morals, values, and work ethics are instilled from the heart of every family which, mom, mémère gave to us everyday. We will miss our Saturday nights together for a meal and playing cards….

We miss you mom and love you dearly.
