Obituary for Jerome Joseph Honore Magne

Jerome Magne, a man of remarkable creativity and kindness, has peacefully passed away in his home in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on April 6, 2024. Born in Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba, on August 13, 1956, Jerome lived a unique lifestyle surrounded by friends and family.

A student at Notre Dame de Lourdes, Jerome carried the spirit of his education throughout his life, fostering a deep appreciation for the arts and literature. His career as an artist was marked by the joy he brought to others through his work. Jerome's passion for music and singing often found him on the stage at local karaoke nights, where he spent many evenings with his friends.

Jerome's artistic talents were not confined to music; he was also a skilled drawer and craftsman. His hands could turn the simplest materials into treasures. His intelligence shone not only through his art but also in the wisdom he shared with those around him.

He will be dearly missed by his mom, Yvette Labossiere and his seven siblings: Gertrude (Pascal) Legal, Rosaire (Anita), Mireille (Enrique) Lorca, Pauline (Richard) Routhier, Claire (Jim) Klassen, Stephane (Joelene) Labossiere, and Rejean (Tracy) Labossiere. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Alban, in 1968.

Those who knew Jerome would describe him as very private. He loved the outdoors, camping, animals, and was seen everywhere on his bicycle.

His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the art that he has left behind.

The world has lost a gentle soul, but we believe Jerome has been reunited with his “Papa” in heaven.

A come and go reception celebrating Jerome's life will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street.
