It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Jennifer Delaquis on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at the Grace Hospital, at the age of 76 years.
Jennifer was born December 10, 1946 in Scunthorpe, England, she was the eldest of three children, born to Brownie & Connie.
Mom was passionate about family, arts and crafts and gardening. She was happiest when the house was full with family and friends. Mom had a special love of Christmas, from the shopping to the decorating, baking and of course the family gatherings. She was affectionately called “Santa’s Favourite Helper”. Jennifer was a devoted grandmother and extremely proud of all her grandchildren.
Mom worked as a Ward Clerk for 37 years at St. Boniface Hospital. Her favourite unit was the Palliative Care Ward, where she made many lasting friendships.
Left to cherish Jennifer’s memory are; daughter Carol (Richard); sons, Michael, Stephen and his partner Wendy and her children, Alicia, Leland, and Llyr; as well as her three grandchildren, Avery, Taylor and Kylee.
Jennifer leaves behind one sister, Gayle, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters in law.
Jennifer was predeceased by her husband, Robert; parents, Brownie and Connie, and brother, Garry.
In keeping with Jennifer’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Jennifer may be made to the Canadian Spinal Research Organization or the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation.
