Obituary for Jeffery James Elson
JEFFERY JAMES ELSON
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our loving father, husband, brother, and friend, Jeffery James Elson, on October 3rd 2021, at the age of 60, in Winnipeg, MB. Jeff was born on September 30th, 1961 in Estevan, Saskatchewan to Helena and Donald Elson.
Jeff leaves behind to cherish his memory his partner, Karen Clague; daughters, Taliza Harms (Aric), Shelby Elson (Christopher), and Madelyne Elson; mother, Helena; sisters, Susan Simmons, Joanne Nickle (Miles), and Janette Ross (Deveryn); brothers, David Elson, Rick Elson (Linda), Bruce Elson (Nadine), Sam Elson; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Jeff loved to play the guitar and sing for his daughters when they were young. He loved to crack jokes and make people laugh. Jeff was a man you could count on, always there when you needed him no matter what the circumstance. He was tough as nails, and always had a sense calm, never sweating the small stuff. Jeff always supported his daughters through every step of their lives whether it was cheering Taliza, and Shelby on at their baseball games, sitting through hours of gymnastics competitions just to watch Madelyne compete for five minutes, or giving the best advice and helping them get to where they wanted to be.
In keeping with Jeff’s wishes, cremation has taken place and due to restrictions on public gatherings a private service will be held at Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street at 11:00 a.m. Number of attendees are restricted and proof of Covid vaccination, ID and the wearing of masks are mandatory.
In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, donations in memory of Jeff may be made to CAncerCare Manitoba.
