Obituary for Jean Mary Beauchemin

JEAN MARY BEAUCHEMIN

Be kind, loving and generous. Life is short.

Mom has passed and we are sad. Jean Mary Beauchemin (née Duchek) was born on July 21, 1934, to William Duchek and Mary Hallama. Mom was raised on a farm in Grande Pointe. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Roméo, her brothers James, Edward (Moira). She leaves to mourn her passing her brother Frank (Adelina), her sister-in-law Jeanine Beauchemin, her children: Marlise (Marc), Paul (Dori), Michele (Les), Elaine, Dennis (Lisa), 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grand children, and many nieces and nephews.

Mom was raised on the farm and worked hard doing the many chores required by all family members at that time. It was not her calling. One of her passions was beauty and fashion. She had an eye for symmetry and took pride in creating it in any way she could. Her other passion was music. She taught herself to play the accordion, the guitar, and the harmonica. Even though she was an introvert, she entertained a lot. When the meal was over, and bonfire was lit, she could sit and entertain for hours, playing her favourite tunes and singing.

Mom was pragmatic, hard-working, kind, and honest in nature. She was proud of her children and taught us the importance of those values until the very end. She chose to use her last moments on earth to connect with each of us one last time, as we witnessed her peaceful passing. It was her final gift to us and for that we have much gratitude.

Please join us in honouring our mother on May 5 at the Howden Community Centre at 1078 Red River Drive, Howden, Manitoba at 3:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to share stories and sign the online book of condolences at ejcoutu.ca
