Obituary for Jacob "Pops" Froese
JACOB (POPS) FROESE
June 19, 1943 – September 24, 2013
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dearest father and grandpa (pops) at the age of 70 years. Pops passed away at Tache Centre on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 with his cherished children by his side.
Jake was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on June 19, 1943 to parents Anna and Jacob Froese. Jake spent most of his work life on the open road as a truck driver. He was a true outdoor person which he expressed frequently. His favorite pastimes included long walks with his kids, playing with the dogs and a love for music that he shared with everyone. Pops was well known for his expertise at frisbee, hockey, baseball, water fights and football playing all in the house. Pops loved cars of all kinds and had many different models.
Jake is survived by his children that he loved with all his heart, Jason Froese (Christine), Kristie Keryluk (Trent) and stepdaughter, Debbie Van Ettinger. His beloved grandchildren, Justice (12), Hailey (9), Kiandra (9), Talia (7) and Keria (3). Jake is also survived by many brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held for our dad (pops) on October 4, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Our family would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Tache Centre where pops spent the last three years. Our father made many friends and was always cared for by wonderful staff. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Pops we cannot express enough what you meant to us. We know that you are now free of your illnesses and with our precious mom in heaven; we have already started to take comfort in our wonderful memories of you and will miss you and love you always. Your yodel will never be forgotten, RIP our father, our friend, our pops.
