Obituary for Jack Robert Finch

On Monday, Jack passed away with his family by his side at St. Boniface Hospital.


Jack was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Margaret (Peggy) on Saturday, September 27, 2012 in Penticton, B.C.,


Jack was predeceased by his parents, Hal and Alice, Brother, Glen and grandson, Travis Booth.


He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Sandi, Bonnie (Don) Kruk, Laurie (Lucy), Stacy (Esther); grandchildren, Shaun, Jasmin (Bruce) McLean, Carmyn (Brian) Pepplar, Brian, Mary and Julia Kruk; great-grandchildren, Ruby, Olivia, Corbyn and Devon; sisters, Lillian Besteck, Dorothy Rondeau and Doris Bayley.


Jack was born in St. Boniface and grew up in the West End. He was an accomplished speed skater and roller skater in Winnipeg. He joined the navy and served in World War II. Jack started his career after the war, owning cab #3, Veteran?s Cabs. He married Kay Madden and they had four children in Winnipeg. Dad worked for the CNR as a locomotive engineer and retired after 38 years. Dad met the love of his life (Peggy), in 1971, they were married for 40 years. They moved to Penticton, B.C. in 1987 to enjoy their retirement, life and travel. Dad loved music and in the last few years became very computer savvy. He never gave up on life.

In keeping with Jack?s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street.
