Obituary for Irene Rheault

(née LEGAULT)
1919-2015
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; Irene Rheault at the age of 95 years.
Irene was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1986 and eight siblings: Albe, Elodie, Oscar, Emilien, Jeanne, Antonin, Marie and Joseph.
Missing her dearly are her three children; Ronn (Elaine) Rheault, Dianne (Roger) Dacquay, Pauline (Robert) Borkowsky; her seven grandchildren: Chris (Laura), Chantel (Dennis), Natalie (Brodie), Jennifer (Alain), Shannon (Jody), Adam, Rachel Anne; and nine great-grandchildren: Jesse, Jordyn, Jack, Ruby, Riley, Jenelle, Brielle, Callie Anne and Evan. Also mourning her loss is her sister Cecile Brown, her sisters-in-law Celine Rheault and Cecile Legault and numerous nieces and nephews.
Irene was born in St. Eustache, MB and raised in Elie until she married Fred in 1944. They spent seven years in Peace River, AB before returning to Winnipeg in 1957. After raising their children she worked at St. Boniface Hospital for 25 years in Dietary, Pharmacy and Labs. Later in her retirement she enjoyed traveling, bowling, gardening and volunteering.
Mom’s greatest joy came from creating a warm and loving home for all of us. Her cooking skills were amazing (especially her desserts). Much of her time was spent with her family, encouraging and supporting our many endeavors. Mom will always be remembered for her deep faith and prayer life.
The family would like to thank the staff or 3DE at ActionMarguerite (Saint-Boniface) for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Cremation has taken place and a funeral mass celebrating Mom’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 7 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Road.
