Irena spent her working years at Jacob Crowley Manufacturing, Paulin-Chambers and St. Paul’s College at the University of Manitoba where she made many lifelong friends.

One of her greatest achievements was completing her Grade 12 education (GED) and also graduating from the Culinary Arts Program at South Winnipeg Technical College where her passion for baking, chocolates and cake decorating blossomed. Irena also loved to work with all her fellow students and was an inspiration to many of them.

Not only was Irena passionate about the culinary arts, she enjoyed many other creative endeavours, especially embroidery.

Irena was very much involved in Winnipeg’s Polish community. She was a passionate leader for Polish youth education and was proud to share her love of Polish culture with her children and community.

Like a sun beam on a summer day, Irena shared her joy with everyone.
