Obituary for Iona Mary Jane Strachan

IONA MARY JANE STRACHAN

(nee FALVO)


Iona Strachan passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 87 years.


Iona leaves behind her daughter, Karene (Chris) as well as Clifford Strachan. She will also be remembered by her sisters, Gloria and Connie, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.


Mom was born in Transcona and moved to Fort William in 1960 after her marriage to Clifford, returning to Winnipeg with her family in 1972. Mom worked at the Workers Compensation Board in Winnipeg, for McGavin?s Bread while living in Fort William, and also Eaton?s Polo Park until her retirement.

I would like to thank the staff at Riverview for their care of my mother, as well as, the staff at Posedion Personal Care Home where she also resided.

Cremation has taken place and a funeral mass celebrating Iona?s life will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 252 Dubuc Street.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Iona may be made to the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba, 4 Fort Street, Suite 100, Winnipeg MB R3C 1C4
