Obituary for Guerrino "Gerry" Perinot

Guerrino (Gerry) Perinot

January 26, 1941 ? September 26, 2012

With profound sadness, we announce that Gerry passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre after a two year battle with cancer.

He was beloved by his wife Karen and daughters Vanessa and Ronda. Gerry was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and oldest sister.

Left to mourn his passing are his sister Maria (Luciano) of Italy, brothers-in-law Anthony (Janet) of Delta, B.C., and Leigh (Carol) of Mississauga, Ont., sisters-in-law Ann (Eric, deceased) of Burlington, Ont., and Matilde (Mario, deceased) of Sudbury, Ont. Also left to mourn are numerous nieces and nephews, godchildren, and extended family and friends in Canada and Italy.

Gerry was born in Conegliano, Italy. He immigrated to Canada in 1958 and was a proud Canadian citizen. A steamfitter/pipefitter by trade, he worked in construction for many years. He also worked in the hospitality industry and, while employed at the Banff Springs Hotel, met and married his wife of 48 years. From 1977-2000 he served as the Maître D? at the Manitoba Club. Prior to his retirement, Gerry worked as an assistant at E.J. Coutu Funeral Directors.

Gerry cherished the company of his dog, Katie, and their years spent at St. Vital Park with their ?park buddies.? He loved to garden, putter in his yard, and play cards in his gazebo. Cremation and a private family service at St. Vital Cemetery have taken place.

Thank you to E.J. Coutu Funeral Directors (Edward Sr., Edward Jr., and staff) for their many kindnesses and support over the years and the arrangements made on Gerry?s behalf. We would also like to thank everyone who called, visited and sent cards to cheer Gerry during his illness.

May he rest in peace.
