On January 1, 2023, at Actionmarguerite St Boniface (Taché Center), in the presence of his family, Gérald passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years Doris, and four children, Nicole (Kevin), Nadine (Mark), Richard (Tamara), and Brigitte (Matt) and grandchildren Nathalie (Eric), Corinne, Christian, Sarah (Nick), Josée, Angèle, Zachary, Alexandre, Daniel, Chloé, and Raphaël.
His memory will also be cherished by sister Germaine (Omer), brothers-in-law Denis (Olive), Ronald Trudel, Henri (Leslie), Ronald Benson, Robert Pelletier, and sister-in-law Lorraine (Denis).
He was predeceased by his infant daughter Michèle in 1969, sisters Lucille Hudon and Raymonde Pelletier, as well as sisters-in-law Cécile Lepage and Janine Benson.
Gérald was born on March 18, 1946, in Lasalle, MB. and married Doris in 1968, and together they raised their family in Winnipeg. Gérald was a very devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved being active and outside whether biking, rollerblading, camping in the summer, and skiing and skating in the winter. He cherished spending time with his family and enjoyed “tinkering” on various home projects. He was happiest hosting family gatherings with his wife, surrounded by all his grandchildren.
He enjoyed a lengthy and very rewarding career in the printing industry, most of which was with Pollard Banknote Ltd.
Gérald lived a full and active life that was deeply guided by his faith, evident to all those around him.
The family wish to express sincere thanks to 2DE at Actionmarguerite St Boniface (Taché Center) for all their loving care, compassion, and kindness towards Gérald and his family.
A Mass of Celebration of Life for Gérald will be held at St Vital Parish, 1629 Pembina Highway, on Monday, January 9 at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to the Parkinson Society Manitoba.
