Obituary for Grace Winnifred Ethier

GRACE WINNIFRED ETHIER

Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Grace Winnifred Ethier passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the age of 83 years. Grace was predeceased by her husband, Gus; son, Stephen McNeil; daughter, Jeanette Ethier-Delisle; parents, Louise and Robert Town; sister, Kay Clarke; as well as brother-in-law, Bob Saunders.

Grace was born in Winnipeg on August 16, 1929. She loved her work at Eaton?s then later at Norgold?s Pharmacy where she retired.

Grace?s life revolved around her family, and she would combine her love of travel with opportunities to visit her family that resided outside of Winnipeg. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She enjoyed camping, gardening and a good time with a good drink.

Left to cherish her memory are son, David (Joyce) McNeil and daughter Marion (BoB) Jonassen; son-in-law, David Delisle; grandchildren: Stephen (Ang), Debbie (Calvin), Chuck, Christine (Roy), Tanya (Brad), Laura, Danny and Steven; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom (Grace), Rob (May), George (Joyce); sisters, Vi, Gladys, Mert, Marlynn (Tony); and numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with mom?s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospice for their excellent care and support.
