Obituary for Gilles Paul Vermette
GILLES PAUL VERMETTE
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, peacefully on December 17, 2023 at the age of 78 years at his home with his family at his side.
Gilles will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Antoinette (née Labossière); loving children Murielle Collette (Lionel), Robert Vermette (Cindy), Laurent Vermette (Lorraine). His 11 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Gilles was born in Morris, MB. He enjoyed farming for most of his life but, had many other interests. He was very knowledgeable and had a keen curiosity that was never quenched. The business part of farming was his greatest passion. He loved to travel, keep up with technology, snowmobiling, quadding, and boating.
The family would like to thank the staff at Palliative Care Manitoba for the care and compassion given to both Gilles and our family.
As per Gilles’ wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of his life and interment have taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
