Gertrude (Trudy) Simmone Alexander

(nee Knowles)

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of a truly loving and wonderful daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend on Thursday, January 9, 2014.

Trudy was predeceased by her husband Bob Alexander, her father George Knowles, stepfather Phil Harder and nephew Rob McMillan. Left to cherish her memory are her mother Ethel Harder Knowles, daughter Lisa (Jon) Publow, grandchildren Miranda, Robert and Evan Publow, sister Joyce (Bob) McMillan, brother Lorne (Jan) Knowles and her special aunt Jean Davis, nephews Larry and Chris Knowles, niece Sydney McMillan and many cousins young and old.

Trudy was born December 28, 1925 in Winnipeg, but started her childhood in Woodlands, MB with her large family of the John Montrose Fidler clan. Moving later to Winnipeg, where she spent the most of her life. She married her husband Bob in 1946. They also lived in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and later in life Palm Springs Ca. Mom and Dad also spent many happy years on their hobby farm in Anola, MB. The two of them truly had a wonderful life full of fun with their many friends and family where ever they were.

Trudy enjoyed many things along her life but her main focus was always loving and taking care of her mother, husband, daughter, other family members and anyone else who crossed her path. To her this was her most important job and she was exceptional at it.

I consider it a privilege and honor to have been brought home from the hospital by you and Dad. I am thankful every day that I had you Mom.

Thank you to Dr. P.G. Mehta for all your caring help over the years. A private family internment with occur in the spring.
