Obituary for Gerald Henri Joseph Smith
GERALD H SMITH
(December 28, 1941 – August 27, 2021)
Peacefully on August 27, 2021 at Actionmarguerite, St Boniface, Gerald (Gerry/Smitty) joined his beloved Marie.
He was a proud and active member of Alcoholics Anonymous with 45 years of sobriety and was a 4th degree of The Knights of Columbus.
Dad is survived by his three sons, Joseph (companion Susan), Gerry Jr. (Teena), Robert (Nicole), along with his five grandchildren, Rebecca, Meghan, Bryanna, Noah and Elle.
Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 3, 2021,
at 1:30 p.m at Holy Family Parish, 778 Archibald Street, Winnipeg with a quiet burial at Saint Boniface Cemetery. After the service and burial, the family will host a time of fellowship for family and friends, further details to be announced at the mass. As per Covid-19 guidelines, masks are mandatory indoors at the church with 75 attendees allowed.
Our family would like to extend our sincere thanks for the wonderful care and love provided by the staff at Actionmarguerite, St Boniface.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, if so desired in Gerald’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba - Dementia Care & Brain Health.
