Obituary for Georges Anthony Henri Ritchot

.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Georges Ritchot on Wednesday, April 3,2024.

He is survived by his brother Art, sister Paulette (husband Don) Campbell, and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Paul and Germaine, and brothers Rene and Paul.

Georges started in the newspaper industry as a paperboy for the Winnipeg Tribune. He worked his way up through the ranks, working for the Winnipeg Tribune, then moving to Calgary to work for the Calgary Herald, and then for the Globe and Mail. He eventually moved back to Winnipeg and spent his time golfing, which was a passion of his, enjoying comradery with his friends at the Belgian Club, where he also worked for a while, and spending time with family.

Georges was a caring and generous person, always willing to lend a hand and give helpful advice. He was one of a kind and will be missed by many.

A special thank you to Dr. Pravin Mehta for the care over the years, who Georges also played golf with!

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Following Georges' wishes, no service will be held.
A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
